I've read so much conflicting advice online - any help from EW?

DD is just 1, has 4 upper and 2 lower teeth. Right now, I scrub them with a soft finger toothbrush maybe 2x a week.

When do I take her for an actual dentist appointment?

Thanks!

I started at about 12 months then every six months (give or take!). I have friends who started as soon as the little one had teeth. :D We saw a lovely dentist who is particularly gentle with children (Dr Izabella at Nicolas&Asp) and all she really did in most early appointments was get them in the chair, on my lap, look in their mouths and chat to them. Nothing invasive or scary and now (6, 4 & 2 yrs) they are all brilliant about going to the dentist. Dr Izabella rebuilt my middle child's front tooth after it shattered during a fall. :( She is SO good with children. My daugher was about 18 months old at the time and it was a stress free procedure. I can't speak highly enough of Dr Izabella. :)
