Hi girls! I've been trying to lose some weight for a while now and been good by exercising daily n eating healthy but I'm not really seeing a big change. I'm not really overweight but I am a bit 'chubby' for my short 158cm height. So I need to lose about 10kg. I really believe that the reason I haven't been losing is because I have some sort of food intolerance or I'm doing something wrong.. And it's really taking its toll on my happiness with myself. I've spent so much money with various dietitians and tried lively and personal trainers. Now I'm looking again for a dietician who has had a success story so that at least that would giv me some confidence. Any suggestions?

Quick update - I went to see a Dr. Shefali @ Healthcare City after seeing this post: http://www.kiranscorner.com/2010/06/skinny-on-dr-shefali-verma.html I've done tests (rather expensive tests) and waiting on the results. She gave me a pretty tough diet to follow while waiting and have lost one kg already :D

Sorry I'm overloading you guys with questions but how is the intolerance test done? Through a blood test or is there another way? Mine was through a blood test.... It cost approx 1600 at welcare.

How much is that kind of test with Dr Heather? The first consultation is 500 AED, and the test itself I think was around 600 AED. So all in all 1,100 AED. But I have done this last year, so don't remember exactly

Sorry I'm overloading you guys with questions but how is the intolerance test done? Through a blood test or is there another way? With Dr Heather, it is through a small machine. You hold one piece in the palm of your hand, and she puts a sensor on one of the fingers of the other hand. There is a chart on the screen of the computer in front of you and when the chart goes off the normal, it means you are intolerant on the kind of food that is being measured.

Was ur food intolerance test helpful @ all? Well I only got my results a few days ago so still taking time to absorb all the bad news... Im intolerent to rice, wheat, milk, eggs, glutten, pistachios. Not fun!!! :( i got some glutten free pasta and bread and soya milk so lets see how it goes. But i do want to see someone professional to advise me.

You can try Dr Heather in Dubai Mall Medical Centre. I have done exactly what you mentioned: Intolerance test then diet accordingly. Lost 14 Kgs so far. And, Dr Heather is amazing. She is a very good listener and takes her time to understand, assess and advise. But do consider around 6 weeks to be able to get an appointment. HTH

senorita...I know a fair bit about nutrition, as do a few others on here. Why not keep a food diary for 3-4 days then post it on here and we can try to help out. Critical though that you include EVERYTHING, most people conveniently forget that cappucino or biscuit. List every morcel and liquid that passes your lips and I'm sure you'll get some helpful tips...

Great! It's just that I don't want to go see someone again who hasn't been tried and tested! I heard about a dr Stephanie Karl in dubai London clinic but I want to see of she worked for anyone!

I'd be interested in seeing the recommendations as well. I recently did a food intolerence test and Im thinking it might be the reason for why Im not losing weight despite going to bootcamp 3 times a week for the past couple of weeks.
