I got the Tomy SRV400 video monitor and its working perfectly in our 4 bedroom villa...but i think it costs around 1500 AED in mothercare,i got mine shipped from uk for 385 AED...no interference at all considering we are rite under flight path...

Thanks ladies :) After reading all about fun and probably with audio i will still end up running up and down countless times a day (which is not fun) def i am going for a video one! You refreshed my memory how me nd dh still would go and see the baby whenever we heard a sound. But by then it was easy, in a simple apartment.

I had audio before, it worked well in the apartment. gave it away as i didnt need anymore. Saw video cam at Sharaf DG, but needs to have wifi at home, our wifi doesnt reach in all the bedrooms up. Except the room which is directly above the sitting room where modem is installed. It could b a good option if i get access point for wifi in upper floors. Thought about it but undecided yet, as it is good for a long term use. Thx for reminding me about it.

Yeh, my DH wanted one too, and I though it was silly, however now we could just watch our LO for ages. So cute when they are sleeping, and now watching chats with teddy. So excited for you... 37 weeks. You've got an amazing adventure thats just about to start :)

Ours is the video one of Angel Care (can't think of exact name, it's upstairs & 37week waddle means 'running' upstairs to check is a no go!!! Will check later & post back)....DH wanted video one, I wasn't so sure but now after reading about how fun they are I'm glad we have one now We bought it in Babies r us/Toys r us in Festival City

We started with an audio one which was great. I think it was for the best to start off with or we would've been in his room every time our LO rolled over. Now, we love to watch what our LO is up to. There are so many things new mums buy or get as gifts that are over rated or never used, but a video monitor is just soooo much fun. I've heard IP cameras can be good with your mobile phone, but I'm not high tech enough for that.

We have a basic (no video etc) Lindam one in our villa and it works fine for our place, even reaches into the garden. Thank you Kpea, Which shop does sell Lindam monitors? In case i dont find video one. So far i have seen Tomy, Avent nd juniors and all the the sales couldnt confirm. <em>edited by Flower33 on 31/05/2012</em>

Summer infant video monitor is the best thing we were ever given as a girt. Not sure if it's sold in Dubai, but you could shop and ship. It does loose signal for a few seconds when we move it around sometimes, but that's never really been a problem. Everyone I know that has one, loves it :) Thank you skydiver, It would be great if i can find one in uae! I would prefer video monitor as i spend quite a time downstairs cooking, going over homework with my son. I will keep my eyes open when i visit shops. I have seen Summer baby items at MC, babyshop. May b i will b lucky to find one.
