My 2 year had a mouth sore this week and stopped breastfeeding as it hurt him...I got what I wanted. Him off the boobs!...but now I feel kind of sad and sort of miss it. Is this normal?

Oh, i feel your sadness. Its absolutely normal to feel sad, nursing gives a special bond and a special cuddling time, masha Allah. Once they are done nursing they won't staly still in your lap! I think sometimes its harder on mother than the babies depending on age. Hope you are feeling better today :)

yes that is exactly how I feel. My 22 month old has finally weaned himself too over the last few weeks, and it is what I wanted, it was so easy, the time was right and involved no trauma for him (and no sore boobs for me) so I should be, and am happy but at the same time I feel a loss, I think it is common. A friend shared this with me and it really described the feelings well. Big hugs from one weaning mummy to another! xxxoo [i'>Wean me gently By Cathy Cardall. I know I look so big to you, Maybe I seem too big for the needs I have. But no matter how big we get, We still have needs that are important to us. I know that our relationship is growing and changing, But I still need you. I need your warmth and closeness, Especially at the end of the day When we snuggle up in bed. Please don't get too busy for us to nurse. I know you think I can be patient, Or find something to take the place of a nursing; A book, a glass of something, But nothing can take your place when I need you. Sometimes just cuddling with you, Having you near me is enough. I guess I am growing and becoming independent, But please be there. This bond we have is so strong and so important to me, Please don't break it abruptly. Wean me gently, Because I am your mother, And my heart is tender.[/i'>
