hi there, i am looking for a normal old style ladies bike for a 5 foot woman. not the mountain bike style as they give me a back ache. when i say normal i mean the sit up sort, dont mind large or small wheeled, for riding around roads, pavements, back and for beach, stuff like that. no off road. thanks for any help or advise as to where these are sold.

After trying to find decent second hand bikes, we took the plunge and bought two brand new hybrids (similar to my old Ridgeback Town and Trail bike in the UK). We bought them Revolution in Motor City - Stewart and Des there are great. They are into hardcore cycling - road racing, triathlons, velodrome stuff but they have just started to get into 'normal' cycling, together with mountain bikes. They weren't cheap (compared to BTwins from Decathlon which I personally wouldn't touch with a barge pole) but are quality, fairly light and are comfortable. We paid around 2200dhs for fairly basic model but you can spend more and get disc brakes, etc, etc. We just wanted them to poodle around the community and use the track at the Autodrome on a Wednesday evening. I highly recommend Revolution (r c d x b dot com or 04-369 7441) and our BH bikes. BTW I am 5'2" and DH is 6'8" and the bikes fit us perfectly. edited by outspan on 01/10/2012, edited by outspan on 01/10/2012

Adventure HQ don't do cruising bikes, they tend to stock proper mountain bikes and road racing bikes. Decathlon defo has the cruisers.

My sister just bought one like what you've described from Decathlon, that huge sports shop in Mirdif City Centre. The saleswoman was really, really helpful and knew her stuff and was able to advise us accordingly. She wasn't pushy either and didn't try and make us buy an expensive bike that we didn't need. It was around 1200 dhs I think.

That type of bike is called a Cruiser. There are quite a few on Dubizzle if you don't mind a second hand one. As for new, not sure where they sell them...
