Don't worry aptamil one is great, no need to switch...I even feed my baby with aptamil pre, which is a european product, the lightest version...and she's 7 months. As long as your baby feels good with one, it's the best reason to go on with it... :)

Thanks ladies ! I'll stick to the 1 version then. I'm sure it was the formula, she has very little cereal, only about 4 spoons of milky cereal once a day and spits out most of it lol! I dont think shes ready yet, when she is I'll start with the pear and peaches. Thanks :)

It is not important to switch and in fact many paediatricians recommend you stay on the from birth formulas as they are closer to breastmilk and easier to digest. The stage 2s have cheaper ingredients that are not allowed in the from births. Also agree with Daza, it could be the solids, cereals are very hard to digest, especially for FF babies, pear and peach are good stool softeners.

It will be fine sticking to Aptamil 1 if that is what suits her. Are you sure it's the formula change not the solids causing the problem? It;s quite common for babies to get constipated when they start solids, particularly if you are giving cereal. Maybe try a pureed fruit and/or veg instead? I think I did pear first.

DD has been on Aptamil 1 since she was 1 month old. Now she is 6 months old so I switched her to Aptamil 2, but it's making her super constipated. She has also started some solids (just Organix Four Grain Cereal for now). Should I stick to Aptamil 1 since it suits her, or is it important to switch to Aptamil 2 at 6 months? The boxes say Aptamil 1 is from birth to 6 months, and Aptamil 2 is 6 months to 12 months.
