Hi Ladies,a

Just booked my seats with British Airways. Will be flying back from London Heathrow with my newborn (will be approx 5-6 weeks old).

If i want to reserve my seat i will supposedly have to pay an extra 150dhs....which i feel is a waste unnecessarily. I'm just a bit worried now that i wont be able to get a carrycot for my baby and will have to hold my little one in my lap all the way! (yikes!)

Just wondering if anyone can share their experiences.............

Thanks....thats plan B just incase they ditch me at the last minute as they say they can never 'guarantee' it. :) hoping all that fussing from the big and small baby will get us what we need!

Flew with them last year with a 2 week old bubba. Couldn't do anything about reserving until the baby was actually born... Then just beg & plead & scream until you get your bassinet!!!! I got my bassinet! I'm sorry, but over the years, I have found with my two kids that childish behaviour is sometimes necessary to get that bassinet seat... Don't take NO for an answer... I have even got on a plane & asked someone who clearly didn't need the baby seat but wanted the leg room to please please please switch with me... Some have thankfully said yes, some have selfishly said No & incurred my wrath for the next 7 hours-heehee!!!

hi A1984, If you are flying BA with an infant you can reserve your seat (including cot, if available) as soon as you have made your boking - for free! You do not have to pay anything. Give them a call (call centre) or try their website and manage my booking tool.Hope this helps :-)

if it's 'only' AED150 I would go for it as it will give you peace of mind. When I used to travel there wasn't that option. I used to get quite anxious re whether or not a bassinet would be available. I was lucky every time EXCEPT for a Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur (LONG!!) flight when there were no bassinets available and not a single empty seat. Fourteen hours jammed in a window seat juggling a 17/18 month old was NOT fun. I would never have paid for an extra seat as used to take the chance BUT I would have paid AED150 for peace of mind.
