I have recently discovered we have managed to get bed bugs in our house. I have no idea how or why :(
We got a spray done by our building pest control last week. Cleaned out everything and just about got the house back in order and I've been awoken now with more bites . I'm ready to cry!!
Has anyone tried this new heat treatment some pest control companies are offering ? It's expensive but the thought of going through another spray and washing and cleaning every single item makes me wanna runaway to Siberia !!
Please help and is it a sure way to get rid of this menace !!

Thanks so much Pinks. Im off Carrefour right now :)
We have got bed bugs in the summerhouse, it's a nightmare... They are everywhere, even under wallpapers and baseboards. We called the company from the city for a price, processed the whole house, one processing was enough for half a year. At the moment they appeared again. What to do, how to process? I've read about https://cleanhomeguide.com/best-steamer-for-bed-bugs/ steam cleaner, what do you think, should I trust the description? Will this really help eliminate our problem and live peacefully?

If it's National Pest Control I'd give it a go! They were the ones that sorted my problem our before, plus told me lots of tips and tricks not to get them again (from visitors!!). Carrefour have clothes steamers that are very reasonable and much, much easier to steam your mattress and bed legs and frame than using a steam iron, and it produces much more steam too. NPC said it's the best thing you can do as a self preventative measure if they can't come straight away. Good luck!

Thanks ladies. I've called all possible pest control companies and they can only come after eid. National pest control has this heat treatment which is not chemical and they say it will kill the bigs and eggs. This comes in expensive though but saves my washing all my clothes 3 times. Has anyone tried it ? I'm going bats with this menace and lack of sleep !! For now mattress and pillows and boards are in the sun. I will vacuum the bed frame and am off to buy a steam iron. I'm open to any thoughts and suggestions that have helped you !! Fingers crossed !!!

You can try doing heat treatment yourself. Iron the mattress seams thoroughly on high heat. You can also try using your hairdryer at a high heat setting, placing the nozzle right on the seam. If you have a steamer that would work even better. This has helped me in the past and is much safer than using chemicals. Also, vaccum all the corners around the bedframe. Goodluck! Hope you get rid of them soon.

Having become a bit of a bed bug expert having had an infestation a couple of years ago, as far as I am aware you'll need more than one round of spraying. Heat (above 60 degrees) does kill them, but all the major pest control companies come and do three sprays of the infected area over about a week to 10 days (and they are very good at knowing where the blighters will be depending on how long you've had them). Personally, unless it's a proven and highly rated method, I'd use one of the recommended pest control companies on here and get the three sprays, and get rid of them. It's a truly miserable experience and hence you want to know they are gone. I do feel for you! Good luck.
