So DD hates her highchair (I got the basic Mamas & Papas one). She screamsss to be let out, I think she feels cramped in it? She's quite big for her age.

Currently I'm feeding her in the Mamas & Papas snug which she loves, but I'd like her to sit with us at the table.

At her nursery they use the IKEA one, should I just get that for home?

I was considering the Stokke Tripp Trapp but it doesnt look too comfy to me, or the Mamas & Papas Loop chair, but is it worth it to spend so much money on a highchair?

need to search for options myself. my 16 month old was happy in his ikea high chair so far but now just starts screaming after eating either half or 1/4 of his meal. rest he wants me to feed him by running after him. he wants to sit on top of dining table and eat. :) Probably only a phase he is going through... testing the mommy borders of patience at that age. Been there and done that. Please dont make a habit of feeding your son on the go because it is a habit that is very difficult to break. (speaking of experience) He will get over it, just stay firm and keep feeding at the table. On the other hand, the chair might have become a bit to uncomfortable for him since his feet are dangling out and have no support, just a thought. Thanks for the advice.i'll keep that in mind and would try to feed him there only. breakfast and lunch are the battles.for dinner he doesn't complain even once and finishes it off. for his feet i keep a stool underneath which he keeps on kicking or mine legs on the stool so that he can keep his feet on them. i'll go and get the booster seat now.

Thank you all :) I'll take the plunge and buy a more comfy highchair, the IKEA one is a bit tight for her so no point buying it, will look at Stokke Looking forward to calmer meal times!

Our 15month old is the same and we bought a chicco booster seat and it has changed meal times from a daily battle to a happy and enjoyable experience. You can change the height of the seat so it can be used for several years. Definitely worth looking at. It is also very portable.

Okay, both chairs are super. I love the Ikea high chair as a first chair and price quality wise I think you cant go better. We also have the Stokke and once baby boy got bigger he wasnt comfy in the Ikea Chair anymore and he is in love with his Stokke. He is now 3 and we use it daily, and probably will keep using it for a few years as you can keep adjusting the height of the seat and the foot rest as per your childs requirements. I do have to add that I refused the new plastic add on to keep baby contained, I specifically bought the "old" wooden model as that gave more room to my giant boy's legs.
