Well my baby was in newborn until about 3 months and was so tiny my DH had to run out and get Tiny Baby size as her limbs were flapping around inside these big sleep suits! In fact I don't know anyone whose baby went directly into 0-3! OP - if your DH is in the UK, ask him to bring the stroller out! There is more selection and they are way cheaper. Also get him to stock up on Lansinoh nipple cream and Lansinoh breast pads (they are the best). Clothes can be found here altho for some reason hardly anywhere sells Muslin cloths so perhaps he should get one or two packs. Most things are cheaper in the UK (playmat, breast pump, bouncer) so tell him to bring as much as he can carry! TDB, do you mind me asking how little your little one was when she came? ours is very small and not yet 2 kilos/4 pounds at 35 weeks (being whipped out early because of this.) so i am sure is also going to be swamped! the 0-3 sleepsuits look absolutely enormous, i may need to buy some more tiddler sizes :)

I am a big fan of slings and wraps, so I'd probably get one of that. It's not a thing everyone wants or needs, but it was a lifesaver for me since we travelled with DD a lot. And now with the second, I'm going to be needing it more because I'll want to keep my hands free to hold my 2.5 year old DD or push her around in a stroller.

Get as much as you can from the UK, it's much much cheaper than here. Stroller, carseat, moses basket if you plan to use one, even steriliser and bottles. If your husband brings bigger items, you can shop and ship smaller bits and clothes.

I wouldn't buy any newborn clothes as babies grow out of them within a week or so, better to get a few clothes that are 0-3months and then more 3 months onwards. I'm sure everything is available in Abu Dhabi although a Primark shop from the UK never hurts ;)
