Has anyone taken some as gifts to the US?

I'm not sure what to think as their customs website says dried fruit is allowed (like dates, apricots, etc) but not sure if Bateel dates qualify as dried fruit.

Dates are classed as dried fruit so if they say they are allowed then there shouldn't be an issue
