Hi all,

Just joined the site so hoping you can help with my querie. We are looking to move to Dubai next year and our little one who was born on 29th August would need to start in FS1. I know in the UK now that Summer born children are now given the option to delay starting in reception until they are 5 and was wondering if anyone knows of schools in Dubai that would consider deferring his entry to FS1 until he is 4?

If anyone has any information I would be extremely grateful.

Look forward to hearing from you if you have had any experience with this.

Many thanks

Karen

As the previous poster said JESS has huge waiting lists. Repton definitely allow this. I think DESS do too. My advice would be to apply to schools ASAP!

Thanks ever so much for your reply. Do you happen to know the names of any schools? We were looking at Jess Jumeirah, Jess Ranches or the new Jebel Ali school ideally but if you know of any other schools I would really appreciate which ones might consider this. Thanks once again for your quick reply All the three schools you have mentioned are always over subscribed especially for the entry years fs1 and fs2. you should be researching more schools also. Horizon international is a good choice also for foundation and I knew few families who started their kids late in fs1. It works out really well, especially for a boy.

Yes. Many schools allow this.
