I am so happy to read this thread....my husband and I have been saying for a while now that sometimes the weekends here can tend to be a bit boring!!!! And considering it's still nice weather I am not looking forward to the hot hot summer temps again! Glad we are not the only ones feeling this way! Would love some ideas of different things to do!!! I tend to agree, which is why my fiance and I made a Friday routine that now we just love and wait all week for it! Since we do not live together yet we spend the weekend with each other a lot. Friday, once we are up and had our morning coffee, we head quickly to the gym before we change our minds (we go to a gym in a nearby hotel, nicer atmosphere than the free one in our respective downtown buildings). After the workout we head to kite Beach with our kindles! We usually bring along snacks (granola bars, juices, fresh berries) that we buy after the gym. After we each head home, shower relax, and hit the night out for a nice dinner and lounge with friends. We try to pick a new restaurant for our Friday nights each time (but we often fall into the trap of going back to the places we love haha). Saturdays are sacred but much slower: we meet up in the morning for a nice breakfast in a place like La Serre. Then usually we head back to our respective homes and get the stuff done that we kept all week "for the weekend" (spa sessions, grocery runs, skype with family abroad, mall runs). In the evening we will meet up to make dinner together (we dont cook together during the week) OR casual dinner with friends somewhere very chilled out and just wind the night down in preparation for the week! Might sound boring but given we work until very late during the week and dont spend time together much this becomes our much beloved routine!

We are more of an outdoor family so come summer we find it increasingly challenging to have a really satisfying weekend..in that way move to Dubai had not been a wise one, though it has its perks!

Dubai can be a tad boring after years of living here as there is only so much you can do BUT if you frequently check What's On and Time Out it can give you new ideas, like the aventure park at Mushrif Park with their zip line, or indoor skydiving at Mirdiff Mall, or going for a bbq in the desert, visiting other emirates, movies, theatre, doing different sports, etc... Networking is key here, that tends to get you out of your house the most. Search on Quora for things to do in Dubai, there are a few helpful lists there too...
