Blood donation/ Blood bank
Hello ladies,
Can anyone give me a clear idea about blood donation and blood banks in Dubai? I called Latifa hospital donation centre but the information was so scatchy and incomplete (language barriers), I was left more confused.
BACK STORY - I am pregant and since I am a Thalassemia minor and my hemoglobin level is deteriorating our doctor has suggested to arrange donors or donate in Latifa blood bank so that I may be provided when time comes.
Latifa hospital informed me that since I am an O+ and my husband a B- he cannot donate blood under my name in advance (or this is what I could understood). Even if he does, his blood will be considered as general donation and I will not be issued any blood against his donation when needed.
If someone has more clarity on the issue PLEASE enlighten me.
