hi ladies,
I'm going on vacation to Italy in October and would like some recommendations for hotels in/close to the cities in both Florence and Venice. i've been through numerous websites but would prefer to hear from someone who has stayed in good hotels with walking distance to the touristy spots.

I've stayed at The Arizona Hotel (don't be put off by the name - I know it's not Italian sounding). It's very reasonable for Florence,, very close to everything and run by a lovely helpful family. I've returned there several times and recommended it to many friends in Dubai who all gave it the thumbs up?
