Dubai Police's K-9 unit will also be involved in the programme.
The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children will be introducing animal therapy sessions to help rehabilitate victims of abuse.
In addition to standard therapy programmes, those who are under the foundation's care can participate in animal therapy that will include dogs, horses, rabbits, birds, and even fishes.
Survivors of critical cases who present symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, or depression will be given priority.

"This unique therapy programme can complement or even replace the traditional psychotherapy sessions," said Sheikha Al Mansouri, acting Director-General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
She continued: "It is known that this sort of therapy improves people’s social performance, their psychological and adaptive functioning, especially if they have been through trauma."
"Our goal is to develop new and innovative ways to support victims, improve their adaptive and interactive abilities, and help them build healthy and positive relationships with others," Ms. Al Mansouri added.

The Dubai Police's Al Marmoom Initiative will also be involved in the Foundation's new programmes. The initiative, which is known for providing horseback riding and farming classes for People of Determination, will be supporting the therapy sessions.
Animal therapy sessions will be taking placing at the foundation's premises, and at Dubai Police's centres, stables, and farms.
Survivors participating in the programme will be observed in order to assess how effective this method is.
The programme is supported by Himalaya Global Management Limited, The American Wellness Centre, as well as Posh Paws Pets Nursery and Trading.
