Dubai might be not the best city for joggers already from the weather perspective. If you are not ready to wake up at 4am and go for run before the fist sun rays come up, better use the treadmill during the hot season. Here are some great routes worth to try in Dubai during the winter time.

1. Safa Park
Safa Park is very popular by runners in Dubai as it has a purpose laid running track on the outer perimeter. One lap is 3.4 km, and so distances can be built up in multiple circuits, with accurate lap timing. Safa Park is easy to access and there is no problem to park the car, however the traffic on Al Wasl Road evenings and mornings could be heavy.
2. The Greens
For those who stay in the neighbour communities (Tecom, Al Barsha, the Lakes, Springs, Media City) the Greens might be a good place to go for run. It has a small lake and some green areas between the residential towers. The route is about 3,5 km. There are some parking slots along the streets or near the Choitrams. Not the best route for sprinting, the roads in the park are narrow, and kids/dogs/walking people will be on the way.
3. Along Jumeirah Beach Road
Jumeirah Beach Road also known as Jumeirah Road or Al Sufouh Road, is a road that runs parallel to Dubai's coast along the Arabian Gulf and along Sheikh Zayed Road, starting at Palm Jumeirah and ending at Bur Dubai. The total length is about 25 km. Jumeirah Beach Road is usually not crowded (the pedestrians line) and it has air conditioned bus stops every couple of kilometres to rest and cool down. The road has an extra line for the cycling.
4. Beach
Many people prefer to run on the sand (apparently running on sand burns more calories and provides optimum strengthening of the lower leg muscles). Fortunately Dubai offers a wide choice of beaches to run. The beach from Dubai Offshore Sailing Club: if you go from Dubai Offshore Sailing Club on the beach in the direction of Dubai it is possible to run for nearly 3 km on hard packed sand. The Russian Beach: there is a purpose running track stretching 2.5km on the beach about 1km Jumeirah side from the Flag Pole.
5. Mushrif Park Mirdif
On the inside perimeter of the park there is ma cycle track which stretches 4.5km. It is used more by runners than cyclists and has some really nice hills for a change.
6. Palm Jumeirah
The Palm is very popular running route for its residents. It is possible to run along the Shoreline buildings and of cause on the Crescent. The Crescent is 11 kms in total and the Shoreline route is around 4kms. The Palm provides a very unique and beautiful coastline view that makes the exercising very pleasant.
7. Marina Walk
Lots of residents run the path along Dubai Marina right by the water. There are always joggers as well as cyclists, rollerbladers and kids on their scooters and skateboards. The route is very beautiful especially in the night, but it can be pretty crowded and busy. If you want to run the full round, probably you have to go through some cafes and face some constructions. There are 6 bridges, so you can create your own route.
8. Zabeel Park
Accessed from the Trade Centre round about and with plenty of parking, the parks have a running track laid on the outer perimeter. Zabeel Park has 2 to 3 km per lap.
9. Along the Creek
Why not tour the historical creek of Dubai the running way? Running along Dubai Creek side is one of the fun ways to explore the city: move over and above bridges and tunnel, watch the beautiful sunset or catch the morning rays touching the minarets in historical Bur Dubai area. If you are looking for a pleasant place to run in this area – try Creek Park, its circuit is approximately 4 km.
