Hi Tanya, not sure if you are still in Riyadh. I am now in the same position as you are 4 years ago. How did you manage in picking your compound?
Any advise is much appreciated. Thanks/ J

Wuffles are you still in Jeddah? I have a friend potentially moving there and wants some idea on cost of living? Best school for IB Diploma and compound living rent costs? Thanks :)
Hi Tanya. I'm guessing my reply might come a little late but we were in Riyadh for 2 years and our small compound was 90000 SAR for a big 3 bedroom apartment with a pool and gym in the compound. It was a real mix of families-Australian, French, Lebanese, Syrian, English and I think one South African who left soon after we arrived. We opted not to stay in a bigger compound designated for specific nationalities as we felt safer in a Saudi area. As a matter of fact when we moved to Jeddah in Saudi we gave up on compounds and lived happily in a Saudi apartment block at half the cost. The main thing in Riyadh is to try to be near work as driving can be somewhat of a challenge! Any other questions please ask.

We are a South African family (English / Afrikaans) with two little girls (10 & 7) - myself and the girls will be arriving early 2018.
Truth as a mother i would like to be in a Western Compound with max freedom for my Children and myself, and also in a Compound with like minded families (small children) and later to meet up with some South Africans too.
We currently live in a game reserve in SA - and was wondering are there "like" Country Compounds...???
Ps, my Husband's new role is to be part of the various new Tourism Visions 2030 for Saudi and will be setting up camps / Tours / etc etc
Thank you
Tanya
