Saudi Arabia National Day

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia encourages everyone, expat and national, to participate in the National Day Celebrations. The Media Manager for King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences writes the following regarding the national holiday;

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National Day

Expats should know that celebrating our national day was not officially authorized until a few years ago. The issue, at first, was raised in the local media through questioning the ‘Haram’ behind it. From then onward, the Saudi government supported celebrating our unity, based on proven facts that the national day was celebrated during the eras of King Abdulaziz and King Saud.

King Abdullah is known for his strong support to the right of celebrating our national day. Therefore, all Saudis and expats are welcome to celebrate Sept. 23 as the Saudi National Day.

This year, 2014, it is our 84th National Day. Please do not let anyone stop you from participating and sharing your happiness. It is totally legal.

Almost all Saudi cities will host ceremonies, activities, exhibitions, fireworks and many other grand events. Your participation is welcome and immensely appreciated. Thanks for being with us and for sharing your true love for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We wish everyone in the Kingdom a very happy and prosperous national day.
