History is currently in the making as Saudi Arabia will soon allow women to get behind the wheel and drive their own cars.
The announcement came after a royal decree made by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud that will allow women to apply for their driving licenses, and the implementation is expected to be fully in place by June 2018.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the last country to allow women to drive, and so this news is a huge step in the right direction for women’s rights in the Kingdom.
Of course, women all over the world and in Saudi have taken to social media to share their joy over the new change.
