Saudi Arabia's mega music festival announces singers, performance dates, ticket competitions
The Jeddah World Fest will be held at King Abdullah Sports Stadium on July 18, 2019, and will also be broadcasted worldwide by MTV. It's promising to be the kingdom's biggest music event yet.
The star-studded music festival is set to feature some of the world's high-profile artists including rap singer Nicki Minaj, former One Direction member Liam Payne, and DJ Steve Aoki. More performers are soon to be confirmed.
The American rap superstar, who has a combined following of over 160 million on social media, was confirmed as the headliner for Jeddah World Fest. Fans in Saudi Arabia can expect Nicki Minaj to perform some of her Billboard-topping hits.
According to organizers, entrance to the live show requires attendees to be above the age of 16.
Raed Abuzinada, Director General of Jeddah Season and Sector Development Chief of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) said, "There is a stereotype of the Kingdom all over the world, and today it is disappearing. In its place is a new picture of the Kingdom, that accepts everyone."
Robert Quirke, Chairman of ROQU Media International, the events team organizing the show, said: “This international project is truly special for Jeddah City and for all the young people of Saudi Arabia."

Saudi Arabia is undergoing a major transformation in its performing arts scene, as part of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's plans to develop and promote the kingdom as a world-class destination for entertainment.
Last December, the country hosted a music festival with performances from popular singers The Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, and Enrique Iglesias.
