Saudi Arabia Held Its First YouTube FanFest

YouTube FanFest took place in Saudi for the first time ever and over 2,500 people showed up!

Saudi Arabia Held Its First YouTube FanFest

Saudi Arabia recently hosted a YouTube FanFest for the first time ever. The event was welcomed by the public, with more than 2,500 people showing up at the King Abdullah Sports City located in Jeddah.

There were guest YouTubers from all over the world and from Saudi. YouTube has been rapidly growing in KSA recently.

The day was divided into two show, one exclusively for females and the other one for families.

Previous events

While this was the first FanFest there, it wasn’t the first YouTube event in Saudi Arabia. Last October, a channel dedicated to Arab women Youtubers was created and the launch event took place in Riyadh.

The women discussed their vlogging experiences, from why they started their channels to the criticism they received for it.

They were also able to share their knowledge with others through workshops about how to make a YouTube channel successful and how to create content the right content.

YouTube in KSA

Last year, watch-time on Youtube in Saudi has grown by 50 per cent and even more on mobile, by 65 per cent. A 100 per cent growth in uploads also took place in the Kingdom.

A third of the watch-time in the MENA region originated from Saudi Arabia.

There are more than 20 channels from Saudi YouTubers that’s have more than one million subscribers.
