I had a headache that went on for days - was affecting sleep....
Anyway went to GP, he said often headaches are self perpetuating - gave me some strong pain killers, as the headache eased, I realised it was caused by tension and teethgrinding at night. It took about 3 days to become completely headache free, but even after first day/night I felt so much better!
Thanks for the replies, seeing specialist tomorrow, headache as bad as ever unfortunately, think its tension as gets worse as day progresses, hopefully will find out soon
A friend's husband had a headache for a month, after doing some research she found out it could be related to a Magnesium deficiency, (he had MRI's etc, nothing came up). So he went on a dose of Magnesium and it was gone within a couple of days. i think a lack of Magnesium results in muscle spasms and he must have had one in his neck which caused the headache.
Agreed about the neck causing headaches. I get terrible migraines which last for days and I cant get out of bed, turns out I have a trapped nerve in my neck which causes it.
could be that, or could be sinus problems, they also cause bad headaches. Go see the doc and let them do some tests, the Neurologist at Welcare in Garhoud is very good or you can go to Neurospinal and see one of them but i think it takes time to get an appt as they are very busy.
Do you have any tenderness on your face, under your eyes or near your nose - as in if you press on these places it hurts?
If so, you may have a sinus infection which can result in the most evil, blinding headaches just behind you eyes - try some clarinese...

A friend of ours said there is some virus going around where you have a headache for at least a week. He had it for a week, I got it and it lasted 8 days for me, and then someone else we know got it and it lasted 9 days for her. So hopefully you have the same thing, and it should go soon. Although being that it's been 10 days for you, I'd probably get a 2nd opinion from another doctor just to make sure.

Had a headache now for 10 days, not getting any better, been to doctor who didnt seem concerned, It isnt excrutiating but is constant, need to take painkillers, not sure what to do, wether to ride it out or go to A and E, what do you think
i had a headache for 6 days .. mine has gone but I think that its obviously not normal for a headache to be so prolonged.
I would say go to A and E .. my DH had a very similar thing but then it went to a "thunderclap" headache..he went to A and E in the uk was admitted - he had a slight bleed through stress ..
Always good to be checked out properly ..
best of luck x
You poor thing! Tension headaches can often go on for days so it could be nothing to worry about but insist that your Doctor take it seriously. Hope you feel better soon.
