Also, I just noticed on their website that the students have to do Arabic and Islamic studies. My son will be in g6. Will it be hard for him to catch up?

Thanks Ladies for your replies. I forgot I posted here and then didn't check of course! My husband is hoping to live in Ajman. I was wondering how the British international school is. And what compounds or areas would you suggest to live in? - maybe between Ajman and Sharjah? Looks like Sharjah has a lot more going on.I hope to get the kids into extra curricular activities too and I don't know if thats done separately or if schools have enough going on. Regards, Banu

I second the recommendation for Sharjah English School. There are other families who live in Ajman and even Umm Al Qwain who send their kids to school there. My son has attended there for several years and we are very pleased with school. It's a nice community and the principal and teachers are fantastic.

Hi anyone in Ajman? I am hoping to get some info about schools and accommodation. We are looking to move from Ireland. Is there a waiting list to get into a decent international school? Hi Brbiyer We are from London and lived in Sharjah (borders Ajman) for four years. Ajman is the smallest of the Emirates and very quiet compared to Sharjah and certainly Dubai/Abu Dhabi. I would personally suggest, for a UK Curriculum school, the Sharjah English School. The headmaster and quite a lot of the staff are British/Irish teachers. My two children attended there and did exceptionally well and reasonably priced per term. Let me know if you would like any more information.
