We went for a walk yesterday (Springs 14) and saw a dead kitty at the end of street 10, just when you turn into the road that leads to Meadows 9. there´s an electric box there and the cat was there, on top (like somebody left it there on purpose...)...Young cat, wearing a collar. Seemed perfectly healthy but was dead....seemed weird.

If you have lost your cat in this area, i hope it isn´t yours, but just thought i should inform.

I think its all very odd - always have. I used to live in the springs 3 years ago and there was a period when cats would go missing be dead etc. I have never known anywhere else like it so yeh, I would say that it is suspicious. We lived in Springs for five years, with five cats and two dogs...............one cat was hit by a car outside our house, it's an occupational hazard for cats...........Springs in particular, in spite of being a residential gated community with speedbumps still has some stretches of street where cars really do speed up..........not to mention the bl@@dy highway running htrough the development. As for cats being shot, this happens everywhere, one of my Dubai cats and our Dalmation were both rescued, found riddled with pellets, and neither case happened anywhere near Springs. Similarly one of my Cyprus rescues has only one eye, thanks to a trigger happy retard somewhere. There are bored teenagers everywhere, especially in countries without a culture of animal welfare. By the same token, wherever there is traffic, cats are at risk, it's a call all cat owners have to make, whether to let them roam or not. I certainly never felt my cats were particularly at risk in Springs, and the apparent rash of missing cats' posters and appeals is always misleading - it is never followed up by a rash of "found" posters. And JJ is quite correct about the time of year......in the cooler weather cats get a lot more active, a lot more adventurous, and a lot more at risk of using up one of their lives.

Simp you have to bear in mind the time of year, weather is great and cats are out and about more, cats get killed day in day out on the roads, just a fact of life.

Most likely the poor baby was hit by a car, and someone removed it from the highway to prevent further impacts - I know I would do the same, although I would try to contact the owner if it carried ID. I don't think there is anything sinister in this, just a degree of decency. This is a bit coincidental, if you ask me - security has just knocked on our door (close to Springs 14) to see if a white cat lying in middle of the road, clearly having been run over, is ours.. Two cats run over in the same area in two days? This is the same area as where cats were being killed with an air-rifle a few months ago, isn't it? Or maybe I'm just too suspicious?

Did you check to see if the collar had a tag or any numbers on it?
