I'd recommend Regal Stitch in Karama. Always do a great job and deliver when they say they will.

Dear All, My name is rubina and i am running the shop A.B's Stitch Ladies tailoring in Dubai. Its interesting to read the feedback given and experienced shared by the people. In general, i would request people to send in a friend request on FB to [email protected] whereby you can contact me for an queries or complaints or suggestion. Just to add on, i also trade in pakistani premium lawn through exhibitions. Even though this is not the right forum to respond, i wouldnt mind responding here. 1. @dxbfamilia [i'>Hi, I have tried AB stitching a couple of times and even though their cuts are good, their timing is horrible! I have given them stuff which they kept for almost 2 months! The other stuff that they had they have lost it. So even though price might be 20 to 30dhs better than they others, the hassle is not really worth it![/i'> @dxbfamilia: i see that you had posted your commentin 1st qrt this year. Yes at this time we were not well manpowered. One of our tailor had resigned and getting new visas was in progress which took quite a while for us due to the recent changes govt had done in visa procedures and approvals. The problem is resolved and we are in flow (not to forget that now is eid time and tailors arent taking orders). Regarding your dresses being lost i am surprised to hear that. Although human errors are very much possible but i wouldnt want to leave it there. I request you to contact me on my mobile 050 2435200 so that i can see what i can do to help. 2. @em2san - appreciate your support and positive feedback! :D

Dxbfamilia, I'm so surprised that you had such a horrible experience. My friends and I swear by "A.B's Stitch". Do a search for them on facebook. The owner is very active and if we have a problem [or query'> we send her a PM, she replies back asap.

Sorry for my ignorance but what exactly are desi clothes? Des = Our country Desi = Things typical to our country The term "desi" refers to things typical in the Indian Subcontinent: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Nepal and Bhutan. Examples of the main desi clothes are: Sari http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sari Shalwar Kameez http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shalwar_kameez Churidaar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Churidar Gharara http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gharara These are like the main groups of clothing types that people in the above mentioned countries wear but they have many tweaks and variations within these groups depending on religion they follow and region they originate from, et cetera.

Sorry for my ignorance but what exactly are desi clothes? by "desi" clothes these ladies meant typical wear of their country...not just trouser or shirt. in pakistan and India people mostly wear suits,i.e., salwar suits not business suits. those are called desi clothes. you might notice people wearing them :)

thats less than what the tailors in karachi are charging now. WOW...Meena bazaar...here I come :) AED 60 means 1380 PKR ... my tailor in hyderi charged me 1200 PKR for a dropped corners , paneled, lined, super long shirt with trousers ...but then again you got to pay when you are doing it here

Next time people ask me why I don't sew for other people here in Dubai I am going to refer them to this thread. From Aed 40 for a shirt? You must be joking! I won't even do it for triple the price... :\: Lettie, Don't know where you hail from but "desi" clothes are stitched by "desi" tailors which originate from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, et cetera. And AED 40 for a shirt is about 800 Pakistani Rupees. And the tailors are more than happy for this kind of money.

I found them nice enough that I used them to get clothes stitched to wear to my best friend's wedding! :) But, since you said you need to get clothes stitched for an exhibition - I should let you know that they're not the AED 30 per suit type of tailors; shirt's stitching starts from AED 40 and a suit (with azaar or churidaar) would start from AED 60 Next time people ask me why I don't sew for other people here in Dubai I am going to refer them to this thread. Do a facebook search for A.B's Stitch. They're in Meena Bazar and the only tailor I've found who knows the latest cuts and can execute them well too. Here's their info: Shop No. 78, Souq Al Kabeer, Opp. Giant supermarket, Meena Bazaar [email protected] 04 3 257 752
