Not many people living there yet as far as I'm aware.

Love the Marina area, and if it wasn't for school location and 2 naughty terriers would love to have set up camp there...

I'm back in London now. We'll be finishing all the final paperwork and then moving out. At this point I'm just going to back two weeks worth of clothing and live out of suitcases until I find a decent home. I messaged Cornish Pixie-- as soon as all the bureaucracy is dealt with maybe they'll help me out and let me change to CP, if not I'll hire her on my own and give him the finger. Our relo person wants us to live in the Marina (which isn't bad, but the places he keeps showing us--are just horrible).

We had the same thing, I think they have a set trawl. So guessing you have been shown places in Springs, Victory Heights, Arabian Ranches, they seem to be the usual areas the relo's like to roll out. When we asked about Silicon Oasis we were told it was in the middle of nowhere and there was nothing or nobody living there... LOL... As you are now doing we started the hunt ourselves and ended up at The Villa...

do any of them post here? i'm seriously curious too! it's my last 24 hours in Dubai before I move here and I'm going crazy because I've been unable to figure out where to live. We'll end up living in a hotel until I can find something, ugh! Where will you be working or where will the school be, what's your budget, what do you want to be close to - come up with that and there are loads of us who can point you in the right direction. You should be trawling the streets if it's your last day - not on here!!!!!!! meant to say - no they are not on here! edited by Clairehdp on 16/01/2011 our relocation person is a fool so I've been everywhere except the places that I've wanted to see. It's okay though, our relocation package includes 90 days at a hotel for us to settle things. What a shame and what a complete waste of your time. Sack him and take on Cornish Pixie.

The houses at Al barari are amazing but out of our price range...have u looked at the Villa comunity or falcon city opposite to al barari. They are new communities as well.

You need to check the costs of living at Al Barari and who is paying their huge charge for living there fee.

Hi Ladies.. Thanks for the replies so far. Am currently house hunting and have all the info on the other communities - so thought I'd throw al barari in there for curiousity since it's one of the newer ones. LO's would be in one of the schools in the Al Barsha which is y I asked for MOE commute time - just to get an idea how long it takes to get to the area. Sparklepunk would be very interested in your feedback after you see the community and Bromelia..I'm currently out of Dubai which is why I can't take a drive there myself :( Thanks again ladies..

Thx everyone -) I know a number of people who live there - a few moved in during the summer so have been there quite a while now. It would be a good 25 minute drive to Mall of the Emirates from there. Not sure how many are occupied so best to go up and take a look around.

hi Dubai Mom! I asked the same question a while back, but sadly not much info. you can search al barari and see what you come up with (search on this site). I'll be driving over there today to see what they are really like. I'm obsessed with a bromelia.
