Thanks Charley and Scrappysue.
I am going to see one this morning and hopefully it will be what I am looking for. I think you are both talking about the IKEA Robin bed which is close, but has 'plank' corners as opposed to 'posts' if you see what I mean!
Thanks for that though.
Hi Teabag, I replied to your earlier thread, as I have a black and white loft bed from IKEA. Happy to sell cheaply. Please consider Charley's offer first tho! My e-mail is [email protected] if you would like more details. We are moving in 2 weeks tho and I don't want to take it with us. My daughter used it for about 3 weeks (long story!) and we dismantled it. Sue
PotteryBarn Kids at Mirdiff City Centre sell them in a full twin bed size, in dark wood it is not too bad, doesn't look kid like.
Highly likely to send you broke though....and too early for them to pop up on Dubizzle when people leaving sell them.
What about trying a few furniture places in Satwa, I know there are sturdy wooden bunk beds, maybe the odd place will have loft beds too?
IKEA still do the metal ones, although I understand they are discontinuing them. He really needs a wooden one - the metal ones shift when you move on them if you are too big. Fine for a little kid.
Thanks for the help ladies!

Don't Ikea sell them anymore? They had them a couple months ago? I have seen them at quite a few furniture stores but I think you're right, they are aimed at a younger market. Will keep an eye out for you!
I am looking for a high bed - up in the air like a bunk bed but without the bunk underneath.
My son's room has very little space and I need to put his TV/Playstation underneath with beanbags on the floor. It has to be wooden, not metal though.
I have a double pine bed that I have stored under my new king size bed! DH bought it in an Ealing Pine warehouse. Its quite a solid but not contemporary looking bed. Head board is nicely engraved around the edges and my son slept in it until we got him another single. I could do with selling it on, but never quite got the hang of Dubizzle etc. Want to have a look? Is this what you are trying to find?
...A wooden loft bed.
I am desperate to find a loft bed for my teenager. The only thing I have seen is metal and ricketty or aimed at smaller kids.
I am happy to buy second hand or new, something like the one IKEA used to sell (and still do in Europe!!) but not FLEXA - my teenage son would not think me for pinkish pine!!
HAs anyone seen one of these on their shopping excursions?
