I also use sesame oil, the organic one for salads or noodle. But the peanut oil I was talking about in the most of the chinese restaurants is the one they use for deep frying/sauté foods. We are more on steaming food, salad or soup.

the recipes I've done use sesame oil as opposed to peanut oil and you can get sesame oil easily in all the supermarkets. Choitrums usually have the best selection of asian food from a supermarket but the asian supermarkets in Karama are the best - sunflower have loads of fresh vegetables too.

sorry my laptop was bugging!! Hi ladies, have been in Lulu, dragontmart, spinney & carefour but can't find much chinese/thai/viet dry goods. anyone knows where can I find an Asian shop by any chance? Planning to cook asian food for chinese new year as DD is allergic on peanut oil and I know loads of Chinese restaurant use it for cooking. thx in advance. <em>edited by Paris6 on 02/02/2011</em>
