Hi ladies

Hubby and I are looking for Health Ins. AXA seem very well priced and the cover seems to be pretty good. Does anyone have recent experience with AXA?

Please let me know the good and the bad!
Thanks!

Which plan are you considering ? They offer several different ones from basic local cover upwards. Obviously the better the plan, the more it costs.

I just entered my details to get a quote and it says "annual premium 2400AED"..... Am I missing something? Does that mean I only pay 2400 a year?

Can I ask how you get in contact with AXA? Their web site is broken at the point of saving quote and continuing (I assume) to pay. Jebel Ali office doesn't deal with individual health insurance. 04-324 3434 can't assist and refer to the 800 number which no one seems to answer - I got thru once and the line cut off! They said someone would call me back but they haven't. I'm starting to worry that, if they are this bad when I'm trying to give them money, they may be hopeless when I want some action from them.

Hi Vertigo, Just checked the brochure. For age bracket 51-60 the premiums are: Regional 1 = AED 8,662 Global 2 = AED 11,802 Global 1 = AED 38,046 Spoke to someone at an insurance brokers and they said that if you only need cover for in the UAE / GCC then the Regional cover should be more than sufficient.

We have been with AXA in Dubai for about three years now. Never had any bother with them. From memory, Regional 1 cover for up to age 65 is about 10,500 a person. There are cheaper options and if you look on their website you will find details of the different plans they offer.

BeckieK- Are you buying your AXA insurance in DUBAI? If so can you please tell me how much it will cost you? In dubai whenever I called to find out most quotes were around 16-18k a year for health Insurance for one person over 50 years of age which is way too high.... These should be the rates from AXA: http://www.axa-gulf.com/for-individuals/health-insurance#

Thanks for all your replies - sounds very reassuring! We're looking at the Regional 1 cover, but i was worried that with the premium being so cheap compared to many others that the service might be poor. Sounds like thats not the case tho. :) Does anyone else have the Regional 1 cover or have you gone for the Global ones?
