Our maid is on annual leave and I am really looking for someone to come 2 or 3 times a week for a thorough cleaning. I have a 3 year old and am pregnant and I really need some help. I am looking for someone who can follow instructions and can finish her work in 4 hours a day. Would really appreciate recommendations as I am not looking forward to breathing in the product fumes of cleaning detergents at this stage.

Howdra. They are super easy, do what they're told and all speak english very well. Alternatively, isn't there an agency that specializes in eco-cleaning, ie no harsh detergents? quinn are you for real ??possibly the worst cleaners i have had here, going through the last two weeks of said contract with them. Totally and utterly agree. If someone wants stress and coupled with exhaustion - then by all means use Howdra. Broke my hoover and were useless

So in total I have used 5 agencies and the BEST one was Best Maids. It was like having Mary Poppins over, she spoke perfect english, she knew exactly what she was doing and needed almost no direction. Only thing I needed to do is point where the cleaning products were and the vacuum cleaner. She took initiative and her ironing was impeccable. If I ever need a cleaning agency again I will stay with Best Maids. My regular maid should be coming back this week (still no show, UGH) but worse case scenario I will be booking that girl from Best Maids.

I use 'Helpers' and have been using them for some years now. I have the same girls every week and my regulars are fantastic. That said, they are also good for 'one-off' cleans as well. I think they send their best girls to those sorts of jobs in the hope you will hire them for 'good' lol. Anyway, I've had a few 'casuals' in the past month or two, and they are Kay and Millie. Superb. But you can book the same girl for your requirements as well. Just find someone you like and stick with someone you can trust. 35dhs an hour. Always on time (if not early) and a very friendly, thorough service. Of course, you may have to direct things in the beginning so that things are done the way you want them, but that's true of any service. What I WILL say, is that I have never EVER been given a 'beginner' and they all know how to clean and get things done. I think that's important. :) HELPERS: 04 398 3626

I used Helping Hands, and I was quite happy with the lady they sent. They do a minimum of 2 hours, but I am sure with a family you will need more.

I have now used Home Maids twice, will not be using them again. The first lady that came broke our vacuum cleaner lifting it up from the hose, or tube, I dont know how to explain but its broken now. She was pretty fast though and in 4 hours she did the cleaning and 1 hour of ironing. Second time I called they sent a lady that was very very very slow, she didnt understand basic instructions, kept dropping everything and in 1 hour of ironing she did 4 pieces. Took her 30 minutes to change the sheets on my bed. It was a complete utter waste of money. I normally do what she does in 2 hours and still have to time to read a book and have a coffee.

When I called Ecoclean to book a maid they told me that it was 40 dirhams per hour for a cleaner. If I needed the cleaner to vacuum and mop than it was 45 dirhams an hour. I was like euh... of course I want my cleaner to mop and vacuum, lost interest straight away. I booked 4 hours at Home Maids, they sounded professional and tomorrow I will let you guys know how it went. Hey... let me know how it goes... interested to try them too... thanks

Have always had a good experience with Home Maids. They do 4 hour sessions, Aed 30/hr. Will give them a call as well. I was planning on just doing it myself this month as the house isnt to big but after a 4 hour bout of extreme nausea I give up.
