Hi Ladies
We are looking to move from Springs/Meadows into Umm Suq/Jumeriah 3 area. Liking the idea of living in a compound as 'out' here our children are usually the only ones out on their bikes/in the pool etc and we are hoping a move into a compound would provide a lot more potential friends for them. (7yrs and 2yrs)
We have seen a few but nothing 'right'. For those who have moved into compounds does it give you that social environment for the kids or do you regret it? And does anyone know of any that have both private gardens and the shared facilities. 4bdrm or more? I know that I am going to miss the greenery but the drive is doing my head in!

Many thanks in advance
J

We live in a compound in Dubai and it's fantastic for kids of all ages! They can ride their bikes around, play in the playgrounds and go swimming. There is a 20km speed limit and speed bumps to deter the speedsters (although it doesn't stop all of them!). Our security guards are fantastic. They are friendly, patrol regularly and ensure the kids don't leave the compound without parental supervision. We have a 3bdrm villa with a good sized private yard and we have full access to the clubhouse and pool. Good luck with your search!

Hi, don't live in Dubai but do live on a compound (in Al Ain) and it's great for kids. They play with the other children outside, are in and out of each other's homes, ride bikes together, etc etc. Good luck with the move!
