I've used him before about 4 yrs ago for a bood job back in London. Back then I didn't know he was a "celebrity surgeon"until I got on the plane back to Dubai & saw him on the front cover of Hello mag. I only used him because after seeing numerous surgeons I felt most comfortable with him. When I wanted lipo done I was willing to fy back to London to use him again only to find out he was in Dubai!! Saved me a flight ticket!! This time round I had the vaser lipo & got my boobs re-done. I got a discount as en-exsisting paitient & to be honest I cant remember how much I paid - DS paid! After surgery I was able to go home a couple of hrs after. But the recovery is very painful with the lipo as i had my stomach sculpted so ofcourse getting up & sitting down was very painful & awkward. My whole middle section was bruised. Took me about 2 weeks to be ok again. I didn't meet with any other surgeons as I knew I wanted to use Dr Viel. He does his surgery in-house. It's all fully equipped. HTH

Just reading this thread with interest. I've considered lipo for a very long time, but am a little scared. It doesn't bother me that much, so maybe I'll just leave it. But after doing a lot of research on various procedures, it's important to remember that no surgery comes without risk, even in the hands of the most reputed, capable surgeon things can and do go wrong - that's why you always sign a consent form beforehand. Anything which uses a general anaesthetic and is invasive carries risks.

I have used Dr Viel for lipo - did a great job. I only had my stomach sculpted. Just had the excess baby fat removed that I couldn't shift from the gym.

thanks ladies! @Luddite: someone in the UK was left with scarring with Dr. Khan?????? @dxb familia: I wish you all the best for your surgery! where will you have it (which hospital)? How long will you have to stay in the hospital? How much do you have to pay? I think before and after pics will only show in a couple of weeks the results, and I hope so much for you that you will be happy, I can imagine how happy you will be after the surgery. PLEASE post right after the surgery how you feel and how it was!!!!! @ stardust: what is a bcc? what else had you done? and which surgeon are you using now? what did his staff do that made you upset? anyone used viel or tahir imran? <em>edited by alexalexa1 on 30/01/2011</em>

I love Dr Khan, I have used him to have a BCC removed (and for other procedures) he is perfection when it comes to surgery. HOWEVER... in my honest opinion his support staff don't know which way is up and which way is down - last experience was bad enough that I switched surgeons at the 11th hour.

I had Dr.Khan remove an abnormal / suspicious facial mole and found him excellent. However this is in a whole different league than lipo. What area did you want lipo? Dr.Khan has a fantastic reputation and there are a couple other names that come up on here. are you having a tummy tuck/lipo? I have a strange lesion on my face that I ought to remove... It's really tiny but could be cancerous. Would you mind telling me how much it cost to remove your mole?

after researching i also read a lot about tahir imran being a good surgeon. any experience with khan or imran or viel? Hey, I am having a tummy tuck done by Dr khan this week. You are more than welcome to see the before and then ( fingers crossed) the better after. To be honest I didn't go to anyone else for a second opinion. I saw him in June and he was quite good. I think more has to do with the fact that I am finally having it done after wanting it for the longest time - I don't want to go to 2 - 3 doctors and end up confused. I used Dr Khan to have some skin cancer removed and he is very efficient. However, someone I know in the UK was left with dreadful scarring after liposuction. I should have thought a bit of swimming and pilates would do the same trick - and no waiting list... <em>edited by Luddite on 29/01/2011</em>

I have no experience with this whatsoever but for me there is no real decision to be made! If the better machine were in experienced qualified hands then that would be great, but from what you are saying it doesnt seem to be the case therefore you have the risk of complications! I would go with the little longer recovery having peace of mind that your surgeon knows what he is doing.... just my opinion :)

Hello Ladies, I am planning a liposuction and have researched doctors. I haven't seen any yet, as I would like your opionion on those two docs. Dr. Viel is in healthcare city and the only reason I would go to him is that he uses a tool for liposuction that appearantly uses laser and therefore you can go home the same day and do not have to stay in the hospital. He is mentioned in all the magazines, that's how I learned about him, but I did not read in anything positive about him in any forum whatsoever, although he has been practicing for more than 20 years (according to his website). I ready that he had a one million pound lawsuit in gb for malpractice and I found out that he is not a plastic surgeon but only a cosmetic surgeon and he is not a member of the required society but of some small strange societies. That is why I am asking here? Did anyone have a positive/negative experience with him? It seems like quite a risk to see him, but then he uses the vaser lipo that has less downtime, which seems great. On the other hand, dr. jaffer kahn has truly a lot of experience, he is a plastic surgeon and is a member of the most accredited societies, where you have to prove that you have a low infection and complication rate and where you have had to complete a certain amount of surgeries and years to be a member. also, I read that many people actually did their surgery with him and are happy in forums. did anyone do liposuction with him and can tell me about it? the reason i am not 100% convinced is that i would have to stay in the hospital for one night with his kind of lipo, but as a doctor he seems to be the much better option.
