I couldnt agree more with mk123 feedback regarding his/her procedure and post surgery results. In short, after checking online reviews and visiting other clinics, I decided to go with Atlanta Vision with Dr Ashraf for my Intralasik Surgery back in April 2016. I have paid AED 12,000 with 1 year Enhancement for both eyes -2.5 and post surgery meds supply for 1 week. Though, I was hesitant in the beginning because of the fear of being conscious during the procedure. But, I must say the entire procedure was comfortable and painless. What To Expect: My Surgery was scheduled at 2pm (Ideally, late afternoon is even much better) 1. Preliminary Eye Exams with an Ophthalmologist & Nurse (1 Hour) 2. On the same Day Surgery; another eye exams & anaesthetic drop (15 mins) 3. On the same Day Surgery; procedure (10 mins) 4. Post Surgery: anaesthetic drops to be provided by the clinic 5. Wear your darkest pair of eye glasses & a plane eye mask (possibly 2 pair of eye glasses, wear both if you can) WARNING: Even your eyes are shut, you can still see ray of lights through the glasses and this is very uncomfortable. 6. When you get home, try to sleep as your eyes feels burning and itching - this sensation is normal (I slept with the black out curtain down and worn a plane eye mask) WARNING: your eyes are very sensitive to any lights) 2 hours or more 7. Evening: open your eyes slowly until adjusted (do not force your eyes to open wide and see through the lights) Enjoy your clear vision! And here are some minor instructions from the clinic before the procedure. - Please avoid using any cologne or perfume and no eye makeup on the day of the surgery - Please wear something comfortable and warm, as it can get a bit chilly in the surgery room. - You should have someone to drive you back after the surgery - Please carry a pair of sunglasses with you for after the surgery incase your sensitive to light. I would definitely recommend Atlanta Vision clinic; Dr Ashaf, Dr Avril and the rest of his team for their exceptional service. bye:

Based on these old forum posts I decided to have my intra-lasik done at the Atlanta Vision Clinic with Dr. Ashraf last October and I can only say that I had a great experience throughout, from preliminary exams through to the actual procedure then follow ups. The team over there is extremely professional, welcoming and answered all my questions. My case was not the easiest with high myopia and astigmatism on both eyes from a very young age (the surgery cost me AED 14k) so I was really on the lookout for the best practitioner and medical environment for this life-changing surgery. I am happy I found a clinic where I didn’t feel the commercial pushy behavior I noticed when visiting other clinics. Dr. Ashraf was friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. Doing intra-lasik completely changed my life. The procedure itself is not painful. It is only once the anaesthetic drop effect fades out few hours after the surgery that the worst part starts as there is a burning and itching sensation (the clinic gave me a plastic mask to prevent me from rubbing my eyes). I pushed myself to relax and I fell asleep quickly. The next morning, I was slightly worried to open my eyes as I wondered if it would still be burning but the uncomfortable sensation had completely stopped and I was finally able to see! I had to attend my follow up appointment and I was even able to drive myself there (nothing short of a miracle after 15 years of wearing lenses!) without being worried of not seeing the road clearly. I was completely amazed that I could drive and read the sign boards on SZR lol

Hello Dear, honestly, before searching for the better cost or worrying about price, i would recommend to have full examination of your eyes at a good center, they will then be able to tell you whether LASIK is your baby or not, because not everybody is a candidate for lasik, also there are many procedure from old PRK to the newest technology called FemtoSMILE, which is painless, bladefree and one step procedure which takes only 2 to 4 minutes to perform. I will recommend to check with Royal Spanish Center in Abu Dhabi or Spanish Center Dubai in Jumairah dubai, they offer free consultation, and i think they have discount packages too, check with them, and let me know.

I recently bought the Groupon offer in June for Atlanta Vision as one of my cousins had his surgery there. I got mine done in August. However the standard lasik was not sufficient for me and I had to pay an additional AED 3,000 (plus AED 4,950 for both eyes) for my surgery. Another cousin of mine did not need any specialised treatment and he managed to have his surgery within the AED4,950 offer. I highly recommend Atlanta Vision. In our family, there are now 3 people who have had their surgery there (one was around 7 years ago who actually recommended us this clinic), and it has been a great experience. There are 2 surgeons - Dr Syed Ashraf who comes from the US once the month for 2-3 days for surgery only and Dr Huda who is available at the clinic. I had my surgery with Dr Ashraf and could not have had a better experience .Without exagerration, I have perfect vision. Groupon had the same offer a week ago I think and it is worth it. This is not an advert...it just honest feedback. edited by SanRan on 05/10/2011

I had my eyes lasered a year ago at Atlanta Clinic on The Beach Road, practically opp the Jum Beach Hotel. The surgeon was John Hopkins trained and came over from the US once a month to do all the surgeries. I had to pay 12,000aed in total for both eyes. My prescription was -5.00 in both eyes. The price for a lower prescription is about 10K, and higher depending on how bad your sight is. You book in for a check up to see if your eyes are suitable and then, after surgery, you receive one years after care. I have been so impressed with them. A friend of ours also had his eyes done there and is very happy. Thank you...in fact the Groupon offer was for 50% discount with the Atlanta clinic so I guess a lower prescription would normally cost 10,000 aed so the price seems right.

Thanks Lakshmi, I also had a recent offer on Groupon which was 'from' 4950aed for BOTH eyes. Sounds like a great offer but the word 'from' makes me wonder what's the actual price you'd end up paying..?

I had an email from the Gulf Eye Centre (in the Fairmont offices) saying they are doing a special offer during October of 6950aed per eye. ETA: they didn't say that's per eye but I'm assuming it is edited by Lakshmi on 05/10/2011
