Lush does not test on animals and neither does Neal's Yard, which has a great range of skincare products. Neal's Yard is in Dubai Mall, Lush is in Dubai Mall and Mercato Mall.

I use a marine based brand here called Phytoceane, it's sold through salons and spas here. They do not test on animals and the brand is also so enviromentally friendly even during its production stage. I also seen a new nail brand here in the UAE that is organic with vegan nail polishes, sounds great :)

Yes you're right, I haven't though of cleaning products! Will have a look at that as well. Guess I will just have to move to Ecover.

This is a subject close to my heart. The only way to be sure is to look for the leaping rabbit symbol on the back of the product. Testing is now illegal in Europe, but all the big perfume houses and most of the department store counter type products still test to some degree.: Estée Lauder, bobby brown, Mac, Clinique, chanel... Testing is mandatory in china so any brand that sells there is also tested. This means that some brands like loccitane, which used to be cruelty free are no longer. There are still many, many brands that do not test, many in supermarkets. Sainsburys own products are not tested for example. I use Liz Earle and Melvita, both with bunny logos. Beware also cleaning products, which are tested. I bought fab ones from spinneys, all natural and not tested. Ecover is also not tested. If you google animal testing you will see why it's worth the effort. The cruelty is so unnecessary and excessive, it makes me cry every time I think of it.

I found some names on the PETA list, and they are pretty hardcore. The issue seems to be as well that for example Body Shop is cruelty free but they are now owned by L'Oreal, which is owned by Proctor&Gamble, who does animal testing. Bourjois was not on their list, but I do have to say their list is not complete. Many brands are not mentioned at all so I try to go by what the brand's own website says.

I think Bourjois do not. But it is a grey area as you'll remember from the Body Shop saga. A company may say they don't test their products on animals, but they may include ingredients which have been tested at some point by someone else. I guess at some point you have to draw the line! http://www.veggieboards.com/forum/60-vegan-support-forum/88549-bourjois-do-they-test.html

Most well known cosmetic companies use some form of animal testing. I used to be involved with party plan cosmetics through a Swedish company called Oriflame. They do not test on animals and you can now order online. Thanks for that, will have a look:) I also found out that thankfully NYX cosmetics is cruelty free. I use a lot of Boots products which is good too, but like you said all the big companies are animal tested. I also found out that in China animal tested is mandatory.

So I have been looking up companies that do not test on animals and found out many of the products I use are actually animal tested. And there are so many, especially the big brands. And I am quite shocked about this, I thought most companies have stopped this practice. I am trying to stay away from these products, is anyone also trying to be consistent in this? I find options are limited now. What brands do you use?
