Thanks all, I guess a Rolex is the way to go. I do love the idea of a birth year watch.
No hubby might not be as exciting as I described him to be but the man has got a wonderful heart and sometimes that's all that matters!
It's all that matters! I got mine a framed poem that his mum used to read him when he was a little boy (she died several years ago) and he really liked it. Not very elaborate for a 40th I know, but maybe an idea as a present from the kids. Happy birthday to your DH!

A Rolex watch or a vintage car;)
I think you have to give a budget or give some information about your husband to get any suitable ideas.
Your description he sounds dead boring, no travel, sport or adventure...
I think that's a bit harsh Silvstet.
I agree.
He might be remarkable in many other interesting areas :)
An idea of budget would be useful.
A "birth year" watch is always a good thing though i think for the boys. Has to be a good classic brand that they would know and with a certificate. There are a lot of dealers who specialise in that kind of thing and will streer you clear of the many many fakes. I got my DH one and he was enchanted with it.
Absolutely, just the OP didn't mention anything he likes or is intrested in, only what he doesn't like, which doesn't really help for recommendations...
Proffesion, hobbies whatever would help slightly for recommendations and obviously budget.
DH bought me a fabulous Rolex from Momentum in DIFC, made in the year of my birth :)
It's ancient, but looks great and keeps time better than any new watch I've ever had.

Looking for ideas for hubby's 40th birthday. He is not into sports or adventurous stuff. We also do not wish to travel. It would need to be something he can keep and cherish. Open to suggestions....
