Hi my DH wants to change his career. He has an offer from one of best real estate companies in Dubai to join as an agent. But they don't pay a salary and it will be only the commission what you will earn. If anyone knows of a real estate agent, can you please advise if you can really make a sufficient amount monthly with only commission? Thank you loads. :)

My husband has been in real estate for 8 years and has never earned a salary, he purely works on commission. He earns a decent amount of money BUT it has taken time to build relationships with his clients and long term investors who now only deal through him. There are alot of negatives and being with a well known agency does not necessarily mean that your husband will earn more. My husband will do deals but sometimes they may take up to 3 months to complete therefore he may not have any money coming in for 2 to 3 months but then again sometimes like this month his deals finished all around the same time so all the money comes in at once. Its not easy for new starters in the real estate industry but I know of a couple who still seem to be earning a decent salary even though it is not consistently month to month. Hope that helps.

Commission only is the norm in real estate, but will take months to build up properties/clients etc, and is a hard slog...........not for the faint hearted. Hardwork is not enough either, so please ask him to think very carefully.......been there and know how it really is !!! Good luck x ps some leading players will pay a small basic, ie 4k pcm....do flights and visa etc.....but very few, If you want a chat send your contact details x

I have friends who work in this industry, however they have been doing it for years. work with the same comapany and make all their money on rentals. They work very long hours and Saturday's ,their companies have a good reputation, pay them a basic salary, medical, flight and sponsor them Personally speaking i would not work for a company that doesnt give me a basic however everyone is different and has different opinions of this. It is a difficult question to answer as we hear of so many horror stories. Good luck!
