Sorry, I don't know, could it be Mushrif Municipality Clinic, 04 286 33 66 ? Found this year old thread, don't know if it's correct for you? http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=102559

Right, so there's been a break in the case. Someone called us to say that they'd seen Guinness with the guards at the guard gate. So we went over there and turns out they had had her and did in fact take her to the municipality. So, we called the municipality and they filed the case - but clearly we need to get over there with some urgency. Can anyone give me some idea of where this place is?

While Dubai is advanced in many ways, animal welfare is not one of them. You have to go to the municipality to ensure puppy is not there. I know you have a lot of commitments and it is difficult but Dubai municipality is not going to accomodate these issues for you. Get DH or a friend or anyone to go if you can't (buy them a bang up dinner at a nice restaurant as compensation if needed). Even having a tag or a collar with a number won't guarantee anything (unless one of the vet surgeries gets her) - sorry but that's the reality here. Good luck, I hope Guinness turns up safe and sound.

I haven't gone to the municipality yet - I've been super busy since my eldest son has the week off. I've got four kids to look after, including twin babies, which is how I lost Guinness in the first place. I keep thinking someone is bound to call. She's a beautiful dog, but the first time they have guests and she jumps all over them incessantly, surely they will want to send her home! Anyways, tomorrow I'm going to call around to all the vets and the municipality and hope someone knows something. Please get yourself down to the Municipality - they tend not to keep the dogs past 3 days - but I'm sure from what they told me that if he's chipped and looks like a well cared for pet they will trace him back to you...... I still think it's best to go down in person - we did and I'm glad I did. Is your eldest child old enough to help you and e mail all the vets? Hope he comes home soon.... xx Clair, could you tell me where the municipality is located or if they have a website? Unfortunately, my eldest is just six. I tend to think the municipality doesn't have him, because our telephone number is written in large, indelible black ink on her bright pink collar - it would be difficult to miss. Plus, she is microchipped. That is one of the reasons I haven't rushed down to the municipality or to the vets - if someone wanted to return her, we've made it pretty easy. Having said that, she isn't back so obviously I need to step up my efforts.

guinness, get in touch with Homely Petz as well, then they can put the details through the network. You also need to try the animal souks, dubizzle etc, the reason someone might not call if they found her, is that a dog like that could be worth money and if picked up by someone unscrupulous, they could try and sell her on. I would hope this doesn't happen, but just thinking of all the avenues.

Can I suggest you place a post on the Facebook site of K9 friends? there's a few people who go up to the municipality on a regular basis and they might be able to check if he's shown up there. Thanks starsouthern, and everyone else who has been supportive. I will post it on K9 friends.

Not six days!!! She went missing late Thursday. That's four days ago. I've made posters and distributed them, dragged my kids through the street, sent DH when he can around on his bike. And you would get on it sooner, would you? You don't have four children, including two five month old babies. Talk to me when you do.

Oh my gosh, I saw your original post - the poor dog has been missing for six days from tomorrow!!! Yes, as you said you are busy but surely there is someway you could have got on to this faster? Sorry to be blunt but if my dog was away for a day I would be frantically doing everything I could.

Also I have put on the Pets section about 2 cats who were lost in Springs 2. They were found few days ago at 1am in someone's garage hiding and crying in Springs 2.. The owner distribured leaflets everywhere and I was handing over leaflet to any gardener and maid I see in Springs area.. So yes don't loose hope but make sure you go to municipality please. I think their number is 04 447 5307

We lost our cat in Arabian Ranches (we did find her but 10 days later!) I found that there's a central security office and took in pictures and told them there would be a reward - it was sent to all the security guards - they probably have the same in Meadows/Springs. If you ask your security guard he can put you in touch. I also left leaflets with her photo on with the security hut and asked them to make sure that all the gardeners read it. Also maid network is a good resource - especially if there is a reward. Put a picture on Dubizzle lost and found pets. I got a few calls from that. I also hand delivered to every single villa where we live a leaflet with contact details and a picture. she was found thanks to a lady who called saying she thought she had been in her garden - it made us focus our search to a specific area and that night my husband found her fit and well and completely and utterly lost..... Don't give up hope. I also went to the Muncipality vets - they were really helpful and a very nice group of men there who assured me that if a fit and healthy animal is bought in and is clearly well looked after they do everything they can to reunite to their owners. I left a leaflet with them and also posted the leaflet on their noticeboard there. I also e mailed with a picture every vet surgery in Dubai. According to my vets they do call other vets to track down an animal if one is brought in to them. Don't lose heart - he's a big dog and surely someone somewhere will find him. My husband went to the Sharjah pet market too in our effort to find our cat. He met up with 2 vets there who were really helpful. I had to e mail one of them our microchip number - she told my husband that they do spot checks and if a pedigree cat/dog is there they check to see if they are microchipped and do everything to track down owners in case the animal has been stolen. I will see if I can trace the e mail address if you like or it might be worth getting down there just for peace of mind.. I know exactly how you feel but hope that you story has a happy ending like mine did..... edited by Clairehdp on 20/03/2011 edited by Clairehdp on 21/03/2011

You need to go to municipality yourself and see if they got her. I know someone who is saving every day many dogs from municipality. Did you check with all vets? I have a good connection with vet clinics in Dubai and most of them are on my facebook, please send me some photos of Guiness and I will make a poster of her with the details (when she went missing, her microchip number, etc..) with your number on it and I will post it on all walls of the vets clinics and animals' organizations.. Who knows, we might find her somewhere.. Also most of the clinics would immediately check for microchip and post a photo of found dog, so either someone found her and they are keeping her or the municipality took her.. I don't know where else she would disappear :(

No news and we are really starting to worry. Our number is on her collar so there's no reason someone wouldn't call if they found her! I thought the dubai forum was the most widely read, but I will add it to the pets as well. edited by guinness on 20/03/2011

Do you walk her on a regular, particular route, that she might easily retrace? Or is she an adventurer?

No update. DH is meant to be making posters to put up around the neighborhood. We've heard that maybe a black dog has been found in Meadows 8, so we are going to walk around there as soon as DS's friend goes home.

Will keep an eye out for you, but make sure you also check with the nearby vets, as well as K9 friends and the municipality as they tend to get quite a few dogs up there.
