A friend of mine would like her 18 year old son to be taught properly to drive a manual car. Can someone recommend an instructor with good english and exellent teaching standards please?

I passed my test a year ago in Dubai having previously had lessons in the UK. The standard of instruction here is not as good and the test is nowhere near as demanding. I am glad I actually learned to drive properly in the UK (though failed the test there by not being able to reverse round a corner). On my short course here, 20 hours I think, I had 5 different instructors!

no its not all automatic here. you actually have a choice between either automatic or manual.Only registered driving schools such as Emirates Driving Institute and Belhasa etc. are authorized to take in student drivers. You cannot just ask somebody random who speaks in english etc. to teach you. Check out the websites of these two driving schools. Personally, we have great experience with Emirates Driving. You'll be surprised to find that they actually have good facilities and standards.

Sorry cant help you in recommending someone. But I think maybe if they are from the UK best to send them back there to get a driving test ....The standards here are not good. Im sure its all automatic here.
