Hi My son goes to DBS and I am happy with the school but a few little niggles, like for example, it's his first full week back at school and no homework!! And they sometimes have the tendency a week before they break up not to give out homework, which I do not agree with. Maybe its down to individual teachers but so far for the last two years, it has been the same. I do find the ECA's that they have to offer more for boys, is pretty awful, they normally like you to choose two or three, and this term my son could only pick one that he liked! We are still waiting to receive confirmation for outside companies, which of course you have to pay for. My son is happy and that's the main thing, overall it is a good school but like any schools there are always a few niggles that bother you. Good luck Nippy

Got 2 children in GCS, they were at a UK school then a british school over here, did also look at DBS to keep with british education but couldn't get my 10 year old in so can't comment, put them in GCS and was going to move them this year, they both refused to move, are very happy at GCS. They both say the work is hard.... but thats no bad thing !! Did lots of research about IB and UK schools happy to take both my kids back as are colleges. I think the main factor is we live on Green Community and they like being close to school (did the horrific 40 min each way trip for a while in another UAE state) and also lots of friends live on the community so always someone close by to play with. Would recommend you sort out school place first then choose where to live.

How old are you children? Mine has just started in DBS + so far we are all really happy. DS is loving his teachers + the school/parents communication for Foundation has so far been excellent. Don't know anything about GCS though. Have you toured both schools?

We have two DDs in senior school - 3 years now - and have been really happy with DBS. I know nothing about GC though. DD1 gained excellent GCSE results and we have had fantastic support from staff re her ongoing health problems over the past year which at times has been very stressful. They have been very accommodating, supportive and caring (apart from one teacher who has now left). I've no experience of the primary level mind you. Nowhere's perfect and we've had a couple of small niggles over time (silly things really eg. currently we now all have to buy identical swimsuits - we have perfectly good navy blue ones that were fine for 3 years, so why now do we have to buy more school uniform, stuff like that generally), however overall we are very happy with the education and care there. Hope that helps a little bit!

We just stareted at GCS and my kids love it, it depends on if your kids are from a IB background or the british system and which grades they are in.
