Where in Dubai can you duplicate those special keys that have 2 "grooves" on them? I have been to a few places but none can do it. Changing the lock is out of the question at the moment.

Thanks in advance for your guidance! :)

How many keys do you need? 3 :-) Well, tbh, go to dragon mart and buy some locks that have 2 grooves and they have 4 keys :). I got some from there and changed the whole house locks by myself. :)

lots of key shops in satwa! 5 dh per key! You know, I asked once at a place in Karama to duplicate my current house key, and it's the 2 grooves kind too, it costs 50 Dhs. Sadly, they no longer cut those keys as they told me they don't stock those blanks anymore. :(

I have had keys copied in Mercato without any problems Did you have the regular key done or the "highly secured" key done at Mercato?

have you tried Satwa? Good suggestion! Why haven't I thought of that? Only been to Karama besides Ibn Battuta, MCC, DFC.

You need a no objection letter from the police to copy keys and then take this letter to the key-cutting place (i.e. Minutes), and for this, you need landlord permission. Straightforward, right? :) You're better off just waiting until you go home and do it there. Oh, I thought the police certificate etc only applies to Abu Dhabi? Funny you said that, I actually brought the key with me on holiday and tried to do it in Hong Kong (no luck!), Thailand (no luck!), and Vietnam (no luck!) :(

I believe only the owner/landlord can do that for you, proof of ownership has to be shown to the key making people. If you live in an apartment, sometimes security will sort it for you! Thanks for your reply. I am the said owner :), just needing some extra keys. The development/security is of no help in this matter. The key making people informed me their machines can only duplicate simple single grooved keys and no mention of proof of ownership etc though.
