You will be just fine. You will learn French as your children learn, and it will be an exciting experience, if you let it! Do not worry, my parents are in their 70's and moved to France a few years ago. They have been through hospitals (cancer) and a lot of other things, and have found help along the way, not being able to speak French. It really is amazing the amount that they have achieved.

You married a French guy and never once thought that you might have to move to France? Honestly, you need to suck it up, learn french and get on with it. Had the same thought...

Im very jealous, I would love to live in france. The life style, the food, the amazing fresh fruit and veg, not to mention the w**e! A change like that is always very scary, but it makes life exciting. I was a real home bird and very settled in my home country. When we decided to move here I had all of the same fears as you have now, but it has been an amazing adventure. Grab the fear with both hands! There is always a risk that in 5 years time things might not be perfect, but the risk is always there. You could stay here and in 5 years be no better off. It could be the best thing that ever happened for you!
