I feel like eating in a fancy restaurant, one of those that you need to dress up for and spend hours to make yourself a beauty queen! Well, I know a search can give me many options but I'd like to hear recent personal experiences.
Have you been to any recently? I simply want everything to be the best!!!

TIA ladies

I second Reflets by Pierre Gagnaire at the Intercontinental Festival City. It was exquisite.

Not *that* fancy, but still an excuse to dress up, we enjoyed a nice meal at Karma Kafe last night at Souk Al Bahar ... Asian (kinda Zheng He's ish) and sat outside on the terrace with the fountains etc behind. Vouchers in the Fine Dining Entertainer. Enjoyable.

My suggestions would be Ossiano in Atlantis or my all time favourite restaurant in Dubai : Reflets by Pierre Gagnaire at the Intercon.

You can most definitely dress up and not feel out of place and have a superb meal at any one of these (IMO) La Petite Maison Zuma Mezzanine in the Grosvenor House Verre in the Hilton Dubai Creek Any of the restaurants in the Burj Al Arab Have fun!

I really love Seafire, but its a steakhouse with a real family feel (AKA lots of kids there). I don't really know many restaurants anymore where people have to make an effort to dress up, there's always a mix of people everywhere, some dress up some don't, and in the end they're all let in, so pick a yummy restaurant and doll yourself up anyway since you feel like it!

Pomegranates I think it's the same for most hotel restaurants as they will have guests going there and can't be bothered dressing up for all their meals (as you wrote), but you can go there and dress up without feeling overdressed.

Zheng He's is really lovely for Chinese but sadly disagree about it being a 'fancy dress up' restaurant - it looks like it should be so when I went made an effort with a LBD and was out of place - it was jeans and t's, with some people (probably tourists) looking like they'd just come from the beach ;) Same with the MJ Steakhouse there, love their steaks but the atmosphere could be fancy but people go not dressy at all. And again, it's nighttime, you're paying a little more, you would think people would make an effort. I think its because these restaurants are attached to hotels, people think more casual attire is appropriate - or nowdays I think people just don't care, unfortunately..... edited by Pomegranate on 26/03/2011

Zheng He's in Mina Salam if you like Chinese. Margaux in Souk al Bahar if you like French. Seafire in Atlantis for steak :)

I love the whole of the Madinat for atmosphere, but haven't been to any really "fancy" restaurants there, though I hear Pier Chic is great for romance and am dropping large hints about it for our wedding anniversary :) Are any of the restaurants in the Atlantis really fancy schmancy, does anyone know?

La Petite Maison, just down from Zuma, is fantastic and there is such great atmosphere. Otherwise have to agree with Zannie on Pier Chic. Anyone been to At.Mosphere in the Armani yet?
