Reviving this thread out of the ashes for a recent update. After visiting Brighton College, Kings Barsha, and Hartland, we have decided on Hartland. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did - the current students seemed so genuinely happy there, I loved their curriculum structure, amazing campus, and facilities and it really felt like an all-around well-balanced school. My 8-year-old went on all school tours with me and chose Hartland as her favorite and couldn't stop talking about it afterward. I highly recommend it to parents looking for schools at the moment, Hartland have reduced their fees overall too, permanently. I will update here after my kids have started.

just met a friend with kids at hartland - the feedback from her surprisingly was nice, that the kids were very well cared for and apparently the head of primary used to be at widad learning centre, which is now unfortunately closed. Widad was closed, I'm not sure it was unfortunate based on feedback from the inspection reports or friends I know who had children in there. Feedback from my friends with children in the school is not the same as your post. interesting. i had heard only good things about widad as an alternative inclusive learning environment. also i'd take your feedback from your friends over the khda/MOE inspection reports any day - there's a skewed sense of whats important in education here. regarding hartland, i too have only heard negative things, which is why i mentioned in my post that it was surprising. What do you consider a skewed sense of what's important? On what basis can you justify your statement? on the basis that i don't blindly accept institutional rulings, have studied the framework, have first hand experience with the schools and inspecting bodies, and refuse to drink the kool-aid. also on the basis that it's my opinion and you neither have to agree with it nor like it. OP: you'll get alot of mixed reviews about lot of the schools. it's always best to go check out the schools first hand, meet other parents, speak to teachers, and follow your gut instinct. good luck

i can't be the only that is sick and tired of hearing schools and nurseries being advertised on the radio. i am absolutely disgusted by it. can't put my finger on why exactly...but it really bothers me. hartland is a big radio ad offender. sunmarke is another one.

Now I'm waiting to see the" my child settled well" or "it feels like our prep school back in uk" or " it's ok to pay highl fees for my child education at independent school" posters.... I bet they are on the pay scale at that school.

Thank you both! I will check other posts as well in this forum. I have other options as well, but since we are late in applying, we have fewer options than usual. I will also have a look at Horizon - thanks for the tip! pretty sure Horizon has a long waiting list as well... if ur ok with new schools and are willing to pay the higher fees then I would suggest the new Safa Community School... it leans on the heritage gained from the old Safa school and a lot of shared ethos as well... but added advantage of fancy new campus, etc. not sure if it's location would suit you but i hear they are actively advertising for spaces

It started off with great promise I understand but... doesn't seem to be going at all well now from what I hear. Try Horizon, seems to be on the up, or Safa seems to be good too. There are a number of bad options to be carefully looked into too! We're at NAS but the waiting list is a real issue so probably the above two are good options? Depends what you want really, If a selective school then maybe wait for NAS, if a more inclusive school then the above two seem to get very good press.

hello ladies, if your child is at Hartland, could you please share with me your feedback about the school? I'm looking for schools for my son and I know it is a very new school so would like to know the parents review on it. Appreciate your replies. Input the word Hartland into the search post above. You can then read all the threads about it
