I'm not so worried that my son will starve, it just drives me absolutely mad to hear my son screaming for three meals a day plus snacks because I didn't give him what he wanted. Starting a little while back, I would offer him something (close to what he wanted, baby steps) and then if he pitched a fit, the food went away and he went to time out immediately. Same for dinner time, because I didn't want to eat every night with a screaming child. As time has gone on, he is better about eating what I give him (I usually try and give him 2-3 things at a time) and doesn't scream nearly as much. It seems like everyone fights this battle!
Children don't do the grocery shopping!!! ...so only have good food in the house as they wont starve themselves.
Carrot and celery sticks chopped up bit sizes of fruit should always be in the fridge
I'm having the same problem with my almost two year old DS. He refuses to eat fruit and vegetables, he has turned super fussy. I'll cook a lovely meal for him and he'll tip his bowl up and it'll go all over the floor. Whcih is so, so frustrating. He'd survive on chocolate and chicken nuggets if he had his way. This obviously worries me at my DD is a very good eater.
I have the Annabel Karmel books, which are great, so going to start making lots of meals for them for them. Will check out the other sites to.
well, if you really want healthy snacks.. why not just do raw frut and veg. You don't have to cook it, can easily throw it into your purse and can't get much healthier than that! My boys 2yrs and 3 yrs love cucumber and red&yellow peppers especially. Lots of flavour and nice and crunchy :-)
also, you can go to wholesometoddlerfood.com for ideas

Check out the recipe categories of Raw, Muffins and Cookies. I made the orange cocoa truffles and although I probably ate more of them than DS (toddler), he loved them. She uses very healthy ingredients. You can buy most of the more exotic ingredients like agave syrup and coconut oil from the Organic Supermarket.
Right now I'm finding DS is super fussy with meals. Things that he used to wolf down now sit untouched on the plate. Frustrating!!
