We have had not one teeny problem or trouble with our Sri Lankan maid of two years. Before us, she was with the people who formerly rented our villa. How do I describe her? Neat & Clean, Friendly & Positive, Trustworthy & Loyal, Pays attention to Detail, Fast Learner/Self-Starter, Cooperative & Personable, Open to Instruction/Correction, Honest, Intuitive,Fastidious, Prompt,Respectful and with an Excellent Work Ethic (has taken only 3 sick days in 2 years). She even played "babysitter" to me when I was ill and hubby was gone.

She is an excellent gem of a maid whose Visa expires January 23rd. We were going to renew her sponsorship, but just found out we are being transferred back to the U.S.

So, now it is a rush to find her someone else to take over her sponsorship which would need to take place within the next couple of days.

If you still need someone, please call my cell at 055-2644068 or home at 04-3942799. I am in Al Safa 1, near Jumeirah, and we're hoping to find someone quickly for her. She is definitely a one-in-a-million maid. We wish she could come with us!

We're giving her airfare home to use later this year as a good-bye gift -- or to use however she wishes! She is in the process of having her sponsorship transferred to a lovely family in the area she wished to remain. Happy ending for all!

and of course you will not have to pay for her flight home if you can transfer her. Good thinking.

We are about done with the renewal sponsorship so all it would take for a new employer would be the sponsorship transfer process with which we can assist or guide. K. is having a trial period with one of the ladies who inquired, but is open to other interviews until something is offered and accepted. She is looking for these areas: Al Safa 1 & 2, Jumeirah 2 & 3, possibly Jumeirah 1, possibly Umm Suqeim 1. She wants to work in a villa where she would have separate maid's quarters (vs. a room inside) and she has experience with children, dogs and cats. She has been here 8 years and her English is good. I will also post in classifieds, where this probably now belongs. Thank you to all you nice ladies who called or emailed! [email protected]

I need to do more proofreading! I realize now that I worded my initial comment haphazardly and I should know better that even one word used out of place can make a HUGE difference in what is being conveyed. I have corrected my initial post which should have indicated that we were in the process of renewing her sponsorship when the transfer hit us unexpectedly. Rather than have us pay the Visa fees now and then someone else pay the same fees later to do a Visa/Sponsorship transfer, we were hoping we could find someone right now to do the renewal/transfer, and we have all paperwork ready to go, incl. a NOC letter. So sorry for leading anyone astray!

How can she have worked for you for 2 years if you have not been sponsoring her? That's what I was wondering

JJ: We have the NOC in-hand. If time runs too short, we will have to re-sponsor her and then have someone take it over via transfer. edited by tibertlm on 16/01/2011

Ahhhh! I typed my numbers too fast. They are: 055-2644068 and 04-3942799. Email is [email protected] As of right now, she is speaking to a very strong possibility, so give until Monday evening to call.
