As an ex-tour guide from Adelaide I would ask you how long in Adelaide? and why did you chose those two places? You have friends there? Adelaide has a great zoo ( same person who re-developed Al Ain Zoo did Adelaide Zoo ) and you have the added bonus of the Pandas. Adelaide has fantastic beaches, with the Glenelg foreshore which has shops and restaurants etc and you can drive down further south to some amazing beaches. There are two winery districts, Barossa Valley with its German Heritage is gorgeous and some of the best wineries such as Hardy's, Lindeman's etc...If you have time you could stay in a B& B, gorgeous old cottages. The other wine region is McLaren Vale, smaller but set at the foot of the rolling Adelaide Hills. SA has some great food. There is also a small China Town and a very special market to see in the centre of the city. The gourmet stuff you can buy from there is to-die for. China town backs on to this and Yum Cha on the weekends is delicious! Check what days the market is open ( been too long for me ). If you have long enough I would go to Kangaroo Island. I would used to take my tourists there three times a week. It is like no-where else and largely untouched. A massive island that if you don't have much time can do a day trip. Sealink is the company and they can pick you up by bus from the city and take you to the boat and there for the day. Its a long day so if you have more time I would recommend even an over night stay. Your teenager will love it! The tour will take you to sand dunes ( different than UAE), surrounded by vegetation. See the Australian Fur Seals, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, wild koalas and kangaroos, a ligurian Honey farm. If you stay over night you can see the Fairy Penguins you go looking for in their natural environment. The tour should also take you to an Eculyptus Distillery which is over 180 years old. Believe me when i say this is one place you wont forget in a hurry. I second the Sunshine Coast Noth of Brisbane too, but that's home for me. See Australia Zoo, drive through the hinterland, walk the Noosa National Park and nearby beaches. Rent a 4wd and do Fraser Island too, my favourite place on earth. Bear in mind Fraser Island on the Fraser Coast is about 4 hours drive out of Brisbane - not exactly close. It is beautiful though and worth the trip if you are able to. Although last time I went it just rained constantly.

I spend a lot of time in Brisbane each Summer and can suggest the following, not so much as "must-see's" but ways to stay active and get outdoors whilst you're there: - Mt Coot-tha for hikes and picnics, offering great views of the city - Kangaroo Point has an abseiling wall, as well as walking/cycling paths around - Southbank, your toddler will like the water fountains so take a change of clothes, there's also a man-made beach for sand play - New Farm Park has a really good park and oval, followed by chips and a wine (or two!) at Watt Restaurant by the River - If you go to Noosa you'd want to get up earlyfor a day trip so overnight is better, there's some great walks around the coastline - Down South are the theme parks, Movieworld, Seaworld, WetnWild etc - it's worth buying tickets online for a cheaper price - If you're with someone who drives I love Sirromet Winery on a Sunday afternoon, down in the Gold Coast hinterland, big stretch of open space, and you often see wallabies, take a boules set and the Sunday paper! - Which reminds me of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, it used to be really rundown but has been done up and now a nice way to feed kangaroos and see Aussie animals up close (far less commercial than Steve Irwin's effort up north) Right that's all I can think of, know nothing of Adelaide except it's got lots of churches. Aussie joke sorry :)

Sadly the wrong time of year for whale watching - which is amazing. If it's still running on the Gold Coast, well worth checking out the Australian Outback Spectacular show - we had a blast at that. Defo head to the GC and take a stroll down Surfers Paradise, which is lovely.

Hi Anna-panna, I’m not from SA but there is heaps to do there hope this link helps http://www.southaustralia.com/things-to-do.aspx Also depends on how long you are in Oz and each state for. Kangaroo Island is meant to be very good and Mount Gambier is very pretty too, as well as Naracoorte Caves National Park but you'll need a car for these. The beaches are beautiful and very laid back, plus SA has some very good vineyards too :) I know that I’ve only focused on the nature side, but it all depends on what you all want to do :) HTH's Have a great holliday!

Maybe go north of Brisbane up to the Sunshine Coast or south to the Gold Coast - but both will be quite busy at easter time - if it ever stops raining! Never been to Adelaide - sorry. But Melbourne is my favourite city to be honest!
