I'm looking for accomodation for guests coming over in April for my wedding. There are SO many hotel/apartments that i just don't have the time to go round to all of them but am also looking for the best deal. Just wondered if anyone had used them over the christmas break or could recommend some. Ideally in Marina / Media City / TECOM area.
Thanks!

Thank you all for your responces! With so much choice it's difficult to know when to stop looking! Great to hear about the Arjaan because i called them today and they seem very reasonable. I'll also give the others in the Marina a call too.

Check out Oaks Liwa Heights in JLT mind you they seem to run at 95% capacity so may not be able to help. edited by lal1 on 04/01/2011

Congratulations for the upcoming D-Day... TECOM is full of hotel appts.... Gulf Oasis has opened recently, Grand Bellevue, Layia and one of Ramada..I forget the name. They all have good reviews. Nuran in Greens is also highly recommended. Radisson for Dubai Marina..

The Radisson Blu in Dubai Marina is lovely and it's so easy to walk around the marina and over to jbr. I've put lots of visiting corporate guests there and they all like it. It is unlicensed however, if that is a consideration. Also use the Media Rotana, which is great too, but for location I prefer the Radisson.

I am currently staying at the Layia Oak in Tecom - for a month, nice spacious apartments all seems very new, nice pool and gym etc. Big downside however is that they emailed us the day before we flew and said our card hadnt worked and we'd lost our room for the first night (?) after a lot of expensive phone calls they put us in the Layia Plaza near the airport. Turns out they'd lied to us and had over booked as it was New years eve when we were due to check in. Its a shame because had they not done that I would have really recommended this place.

We stayed in Arjaan Rotana in Media City for a week in December. We were holidaying in Dubai and I cant recommend it enough. The bedrooms are nice size and the housekeeping is great. We used the kitchen to fix quick breakfast and used to be out for other meals so cant really comment on the restuarant although there is a food court which has a few decent places in the adjoining office building. It was confusing for us too as there are so many places but we decided on Arjaan after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. HTH

We use Layia Oak Hotel and Suites in Tecom and I think it's excellent value - it's a 4 or 5 star hotel and you can have lovely buffet breakfast included. Very clean, nice atmosphere and good service.
