He best thing was when I got home I realised I had no sugar, Milk etc, had to pop across the road and was staggering, im sure the shop has a very strong smell of Vodka,hahaha, I was in my purse with one eye open, checking a double checking my notes. After returning fromt he shop I had to go back down as needed something else!!!!!grrr. I was them approached by DH, he wanted to know what all the carry on was. He didnt tell me off, he loves me having fun, he gave a big hud, told me I stink of booze and then trotted off back to bed, bless him, ha

I know I went out for a quick drink a few times, then a supernatural occurrence happened and I was teleported into the future by a few hours and woke up at home... the supernatural occurrences are great, but I think that the time travel messes with your head a bit and makes you warp-sick, because you wake up the next day with a monster headache and a stomach like a washing machine.... Superbly put wikkid..... That describes it perfectly! lol

Oh i've done it many times ( more back in UK than here ) I always think those impromptu sessions are the best, the times you nip out to shops, end up having lunch and a bottle or too, just dangerous if you go back shopping afterwards and have no control over your mind/and or credit card and buy things that you wouldn't normally be able to justify! On one occasion a friend of mine was having hubby trouble and came round for chat we ended up on wine and had to pick kids up from school in taxi, it was obvious we were tiddled at the school gate, not a good look! I say go for it more often salsaB, but can i come next time, pleeeease?

A friend and I went shopping the other day, and made an unplanned decision to pop into a bar for a drink, the only problem was we stayed alot longer than planned, and headed home quite late on the evening, we had a great day, our better halves were not impressed, its not that we do this too often, but we did have a great day, sitting chatting. We both lead quite sheltered lives back home, and as our kids are older now, we just feel its so nice to have our freedom, ofcourse our Hubby's always come first, but surely its not wrong to have some girly times!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a teeny bit jealous... miss days like this... my children are still a little bit too little at the mo' - salsB I hope you do it again soon!!!!!???!!!! <em>edited by Little Rush on 12/01/2011</em>

Of course we are entitled to have girlie time but I have always let DH know where I am going and a rough time of getting home. Is only courtesy and prevents worry. A quick text suffices. I know that I have sweated over the years when DH is late home from work, thinking the worst. But yes, as a woman married to a fab guy who is what you would describe as the strong silent type, I greatly value my chat sessions with girl friends :D

My husband wonders what I can have to talk about when I get together with my friends. He doesn't understand why it takes so long or why I can be on the phone for an hour at a time. It is good to chat. This post reminds me of a time my daughter felt sorry for 'poor mums who had to stay in with the kids all the time' ... When she was nearly 18 she started playing with the county orchestra which had an age range of 17 to around 85. She got a lift into town from a couple of young mums who lived in the same village. One night she phoned me and said the mums wanted to go to the pub after orchestra for an hour and they asked if she could she go. She whispered down the phone, 'I think they need a break mum. They don't get out very often as they are stuck at home with the kids!' She promised me she wouldn't drink and it became a weekly add on to orchestra practice. Then when I met one of the 'poor mums' later she told me my DD knew more people in the pub than they did! (DD's explanation was it was from working as a Saturday girl in a shop! Mmmm?)
