Hello everyone......how do you get your white washing to look white ??

Mine gets greyer by the wash, and all i see is brilliant white gallabayers ??? How do they/you do it ????

Lulu's does sheets that go in the washing machine and make whites white. There are other brands, this one is cheap and does the job. I use them when I remember, probably once a month. My DH likes his work shirts to be a crisp white and he hasn't mentioned it since I started using these.

But quite true, hot washes set stains and cold washes are better. I was things at the coolest time of day, 5-6am and use Ecover laundry bleach, all our bed sheets are plain white and so far they've stayed that way. Don't put water heaters on hot is cold, cold is hot I always get cool water :)

White plastic bottle with LIGHT blue top and its called Clorox Ultimate Bleach care which you will find beside the washing powders so don't mistake it for the normal Clorex with darker blue top -- anyway I add a cap of this to my white wash and whites are white again

Firstly, I had a filter added to the water supply to the washing machine, and that made the most difference, otherwise you are just washing clothes in sandy/somewhat dirty water from the pipes. I also use Vanish Oxy for my whites and I'm very strict about colour mixing too.

clorox oxy soak all underwear and socks the night before whites wash is exactly that, whites only i use no bio persil, a scoop of oxy and fabric softener, wash at 40 - 60 depending on the items all whites come out WHITE I never ever use bleach!

Do you wash your whites with whites only? Borax and baking soda help add it to the ore wash section or with the powder. Also put them on a cold wash first as hot washes set the stains in cold wash will left the stains. <em>edited by fairycakeyumm on 23/05/2012</em>

i use vanish tablets in my white wash - use the green Ariel and wash them on a longer cycle at 60 degrees and i have white towels that are 10 years old that are still white.
